C or C++ Programmer

We are expanding our MetOcean Solutions (a division within the New Zealand’s MetService) team and seeking a developer to develop libraries and APIs that work with multidimensional geospatial datasets.

The MetOcean division works with atmospheric and marine models that predict 4D spatially and temporally varying variables e.g. wind speed, air temperature, current velocities, wave height etc.

This role involves optimising the reading, interpolation and transformation of these data into the specific outputs.

The successful candidate will work in the MetOcean Marine Services and Delivery Team, consisting of four developers, some remote, a participating team leader; and working alongside a larger team of 15+ scientists.

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively within a team environment and independently depending on the project’s life cycle, team and personal preference.

MetService and the MetOcean division believes in applying rigorous scientific method and the latest information technology to data services. We encourage our people to bring fresh ideas to the table, rise to any challenge and remain enthusiastic about our products and the company mission. Our company promotes a positive working environment to achieve our shared goals, supported by flexible hours to ensure a healthy work-life balance.
